In the small gaps of time he had as a single dad of an autistic child, Bobb was writing out his story, hoping to turn it into a movie and to inspire others. “I put everything down to raise my son by myself,” Bobb said.īut his cinematic dream wasn’t completely gone it just took a new direction. ![]() That included taking a break from acting and returning to Pennsylvania. When he learned that Christian’s mom had left him behind to be taken care of by his stepfather, Bobb worked on his sobriety and parenting to step in to be a dad. It was taking control of my life.”īobb’s first marriage fell apart, and his wife raised their severely autistic son, Christian. “Drinking, smoking cocaine and marijuana. “I was starting to fall back to the dark side,” Bobb, 49, said. But with the pursuit of fame came vices that would derail that dream and a lot more. It’s a story that Bobb knows very well - because he lived it.įifteen years ago, Bobb was a budding actor in New York City, leading bit parts in movies and television like 1994’s “The Jungle Book” and “Down to You” in 2000 before landing a role in 2001’s “Piñero” with Benjamin Bratt.
